PhD scholarship exploring Trust and AI

Data61 is the data and digital specialist arm of CSIRO, and is inviting applications for the Data61 PhD scholarship program. They are looking for diverse and creative scholars, who can demonstrate academic and research excellence and are capable of driving their impactful research projects that help shape Australia’s digital future. 

Previous scholarship recipients are successfully employed in the industry, tech companies and SMEs, universities and leading research institutes in Australia and around the globe. Graduates complete the program with a lifelong connection to CSIRO through our alumni network.

THE PROJECT: Proposes to evaluate AI knowledge/literacy in the general public (e.g., through developing an AI-literacy survey tool), studying people’s trust in different types of AI systems, as well as different types of trust how these relates to user behaviour (e.g., reliance), intention to use, and actual use AI-technology.
