Synopsis:

Many graduate students and early career researchers have wondered what they should do after completion of their postgraduate studies and/or postdoctoral research fellowships. In this Peers Connect workshop, Dr Carina Chan will provide insightful tips as to what should be considered when you are at this intersection of your career, how to look for suitable positions, and be successful in getting those jobs. Please feel free to bring your questions to this workshop for discussion with the facilitator.

About Dr Carina Chan

Dr Carina Chan is Senior Lecturer at the School of Psychology and Public Health at La Trobe University, Australia. Trained in health psychology at the University of Auckland, Carina has started her academic career after completing her PhD. She has worked as teaching and research academic in Monash University and Deputy Head of School of Psychology at the Australian Catholic University. Her research expertise focuses on psychosocial interventions for health behaviour change, health promotion, and diabetes management. Carina has also served at professional organisations such as Australasian Society for Behavioural Health and Medicine (in the capacity of early career representative, Past-President, and treasurer), the International Society of Behavioral Medicine (ISBM) and the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC). She is on the editorial board of Applied Psychology: Health and Wellbeing, and Anxiety, Stress, and Coping.
